The Jefferson County Public Health Service is hosting an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Abatement Supervisor Training provided by Eco-Testing Services, LLC.  This is a 4-day course (8:30am-4:30pm Tuesday through Friday) that teaches participants how to manage and oversee lead-based paint abatement projects. To be eligible for this certification, participants must have: 1 year experience as a certified abatement worker OR at least 2 years experience in a related field (lead, asbestos, environmental remediation or construction).

This training is offered at no-cost to participants. We have a limited number of spaces available. Please call 315-786-3730 to register for this training.

The New York State Lead Rental Registry Program addresses the leading cause of childhood lead poisonings by requiring landlords to remove sources of lead exposure in pre-1980 rental units in 25 communities of concern identified in New York State Public Health Law (PHL) § 1377. Watertown has been identified as one of these communities of concern. This course is a great opportunity to become trained before these regulations go into effect.
