The Jefferson County Public Health Service is hosting an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Abatement Worker Training provided by Eco-Testing Services, LLC. This is a 2-day course (8:30am-4:30pm Thursday through Friday). Abatement workers may conduct abatement activities under the direction of certified abatement supervisors.
This training is offered at no-cost to participants. We have a limited number of spaces available. Please call 315-786-3730 to register for this training. This training will be held at the Marcy Building in Watertown at the 3rd floor conference room.
The New York State Lead Rental Registry Program addresses the leading cause of childhood lead poisonings by requiring landlords to remove sources of lead exposure in pre-1980 rental units in 25 communities of concern identified in New York State Public Health Law (PHL) § 1377. Watertown has been identified as one of these communities of concern. This course is a great opportunity to become trained before these regulations go into effect.
