We are hosting a free Worker Safety & Health training offered through SUNY Upstate Medical University. The session is designed to promote safer workplaces and are open to a wide range of audiences. The presentation will be given by Augusta Williams, ScD, MPH from Upstate Medical University. It will be held in the conference room at Jefferson County Public Health Service (JCPHS) 531 Meade Street, Watertown, NY 13601. Please call JCPHS at 315-786-3700 to reserve a seat for this training.
In this presentation, attendees will learn about health and safety risks associated with summer weather, like heat, sun exposure, and tick-borne diseases. We will also explore workplace hazards associated with extreme weather events, like flooding. Attendees will leave with tips of how to keep themselves and others safe when working outside.
