Recreation and Vessel Enforcement (R.A.V.E.)

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (R.A.V.E.) Recreation and Vessel Enforcement Unit is a group of Deputy Sheriff’s who have received specialized training in various areas of recreational enforcement. This unit is responsible for enforcing the various laws pertaining to such recreational vehicles as snowmobiles, all-terrain Vehicles (ATVs/UTVs), boats, and personal watercraft. Approximately 32% of the Sheriff’s Office patrol area consists of 585 square miles of waterway.
