Safe, affordable, and well-maintained housing is an important part of healthy communities and a strong local economy. The Jefferson County Planning and Community Development Department supports housing initiatives throughout the County by coordinating housing programs, administering grant funding, and providing information and resources to residents, municipalities, and housing partners.

The Department works with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and state and federal agencies to help maintain and improve the County’s housing stock and expand housing opportunities for residents. These efforts include administering housing rehabilitation programs, supporting regional housing initiatives, and helping communities access funding for housing development and improvements.
