Jefferson County EMS (JCEMS) coordinates and supports emergency medical services throughout the county. JCEMS manages EMS training programs for new and current providers, participates in regional education initiatives, and acts as an AHA Training Center. Beyond education and clinical support, JCEMS coordinates system response planning, quality improvement initiatives, and public health preparedness efforts in collaboration with local hospitals, emergency service agencies, and public safety partners. We also administer the Jefferson County EMS Mutual Aid Plan, ensuring seamless coordination of resources and response across jurisdictions when emergencies exceed local capabilities.
Through ongoing partnerships and collaboration, JCEMS maintains active engagement with surrounding counties—including Lewis, St. Lawrence, Oswego, and Onondaga—to strengthen regional emergency response and preparedness.
